Goal: 500 miles
I am getting back on my kayak again after a layoff. I am going to try to do 500 miles in Southwest Florida next year.

This sounds like a dangerous trip, because of it's length and location. Be sure you do a lot of training to prepare yourself. Since part of the trip in in international waters, you might also want to consider international health insurance should you need treatment for an injury on a non-US island. If you are able to pull this off, you will have a great story to tell. Be sure to bring a waterproof camera to document the journey.
