Kayak Expedition Seeks to Raise Awareness, Funds for Great Calusa Blueway Paddling Trail

WHO: Sean Fitzgibbon and Jeff Fabiszewski, experienced kayakers and instructors in the Tampa Bay area, have formed Team Sweetwater. Fitzgibbon, an amputee since the age of 3, is an orthotic fitter and pedorthist at St. Petersburg Limb and Brace www.splimbandbrace.com, a sponsor of the expedition, and is also a former national surfing champion.

WHAT: "The Great Calusa Blueway Paddling Trail Kayaking Expedition" -- Team Sweetwater will be paddling the 190-mile marked and unmarked paddling trail in Lee County, Fla., one of the premier paddling trails in the U.S.

WHY: Team Sweetwater is paddling to raise awareness of the Great Calusa Blueway Paddling Trail www.calusablueway.com as well as for the Clinic for Rehabilitation of Wildlife on Sanibel Island, Fla. www.crowclinic.com.
