Horseshoe crabs abound for kayakers on Calusa Blueway
June 10, 2010
[imagefield:left:0]Southwest Florida paddling presents an array of critters, including horseshoe crabs -- the cutest little buggers.
Kayaking the Calusa Blueway here in Southwest Florida, you expect to see dolphins, manatees, wading birds and fish – tons and tons of fish.
One thing you see a lot of this time of year is the prehistoric looking horseshoe crab. These clumsy crustaceans crawl on the shallow bottoms throughout the blueway.
Keep an eye out for them.
