Come geocache with us
Geocaching is hot. As in, it’s not just for computer geeks or gadget freaks. It’s for outdoors lovers and, of course, that includes kayakers.
Geocaching is the sport where you are the search engine. It’s a combination of orienteering, treasure hunt and on-demand hide-and-seek. It sounds simple enough – you go online to obtain a longitude and latitude of a cache. That’s typically a hidden logbook or some such thing. Then you use a GPS device to find it and “score.”
If the game doesn’t sound so simple, read on.
If the game sounds intriguing, read on.
If you’re a game guru, read on.
As part of the 4th annual Calusa Blueway Paddling Festival, geocaching will take center stage on Sunday, Oct. 25, when The Resort at MarinaVillage located at Tarpon Point Marina in Cape Coral hosts the Geo Paddle.
It’s going to be a lot of fun for novices and experts alike. It’s happening thanks to Bass Pro Shops, Cat County 107.1 and The Resort at MarinaVillage.
